la la la.

fun night at the dawning.

boy and i stopped at giant on the way b/c we weren't sure where we packed the earplugs. i had a pair (the pair i always keep on my bedside table), but he did not. that done, we headed on into town to bop around to the music.

i was happy. i got to see [livejournal.com profile] xiane, [livejournal.com profile] rat_bastard, and lots of other folks i know and love. i met some new folks and heard some good stories.

and i saw a guy who highly resembles and old and dear friend of mine. i think i freaked him out a little, but that's okay. he was amused when i asked him if he ever saw a hobgoblin in a shoebox n his bedroom.

we saw in tenebris play. the sound at the dawning tends to be bass heavy, especially with a band like in tenebris, so i stayed away from the stage area, roaming off to the sides to chat with xiane or upstairs to chat with stu and other folks. i like the band, so we picked up the CD and got a nifty sticker, too.

boy was anxious all night, so we left around 1:30. it was a nice night, though. i haven't been out in awhile.

and yes, the important stuff... what i wore.

20i docs
orange tights underneath spider web tights
short denim wrap skirt
fishnet shirt underneath cap-sleeve lace shirt

boy wore linen pants, combat boots, and a button-down shirt with a v-neck collar/lapels and center embroidery with silver flames and blue dice. kinda loungey in a good way.

i took pics, but i'll have to wait til i finish the roll and get it developed.

eeeeee, it was fun. :)

and when we got home, the milky way was all shimmery and pretty and i saw three meteors (bolides, actually) streak out of cygnus in under two minutes.

the meteors i saw tonight were probably from the antihelion radiant.

i'd have to go outside and look again to be sure, but that makes more sense than lyrids or xi draconians.

last night i was just about to jump into the shower when a very large spider decided to jump out at me. it was terrifying... if i hadn't screamed and jumped back, i'd have been victim of its gnashing mandibles. it's long, lean tan and brown striped body moved across the floor in spurts, sometimes ambling with its shorter feeler legs/antennae, sometimes scrambling quickly with it's long and terrifying legs.

my scream woke boy. he came in and captured it, then took it outside.

i was frozen solid until he came into the bathroom. i can handle the nickel-size black spiders when they're not near me, but this spider was larger than a dollar coin (legspan, body alone was the size of a nickel, if a nickle were elongated). SCARY.

we have a good arrangement. i liberate crickets, he ushers out spiders.Ï

the whole tone of this site amuses me. it's funny. i blame [livejournal.com profile] dkchapman for my net.roving tonight.
