The painting is finally done! I haven't put up the border yet, but that will be relatively painless, compared to the trimwork. (yes, yes, famous last words. I know the room isn't level, but that doesn't mean the bottom of the border won't be 36" from the floor, dammit.)

Earlier today:

Someone wore his good wool socks to paint in. Someone just had fun cleaning one of his good wool socks.

Looks like it'll rain all day tomorrow, too. Something tells me the grass is going to keep on growing.

I wrecked a pair of socks painting in them, a few weeks ago. I didn't realize until they were out of the dryer that they had paint on them.

You look all pretty and parasolly! And I love the earlier pic of you on the ladder.

I still have a handful of kiddie parasols, remnants of the photosensitivity days of yore. They're convenient and usually easier to find since they hang on a rod so easily.

I can't find my beloved Ikea monster umbrellaM/a>, though. Argh.

That monster umbrella reminds me of one that I've been wanting to get. The Art Institute of Chicago has these famous two lion statues outside their front entrance, which have sort of become a pair of mascots. So, they sell these umbrellas, ostensibly for children, which are "Artie the Lion" umbrellas. They have them in red, blue, or yellow. I want the yellow one because it's in the vein of the color of a lion's fur and the thing is already cartoonish enough, so I may as well pick a color that's vaguely realistic to counterbalance and make it more identifiable as a lion caricature; but perhaps I have a weird rationale about that. Anyway, cool monster umbrella! I'm totally with you on the kitschy umbrella thing. ;-)

If I can find non-rubber ladybug galoshes in my size, I *will* have a ladybug boots & umbrella outfit someday.

Kitsch is happy-making. ;)

That dress? Motherhood Maternity. Most of their dresses won't accomodate boobage, but that one does nicely.
