So, I went to http://thomas.loc.gov/ and looked up HR 3015, the National All Schedules Prescription Electronic Reporting Act of 2004.

To put it succinctly, I'm less than thrilled. In fact, I'm a little irate. I'm not fond of the thought that parts of my medical record could automatically be made available in a national database. I do not feel that my treatment for chronic pain and health issues needs be made available to law enforcement, the DEA, the DHHS, etc. I don't care about the so-called "privacy provisions". This truly isn't providing for any sense of privacy--it's a means for Big Brother to continue the war against pain patients.

They already scrutinize our doctors, making it very difficult for us to receive decent treatment. Sure, laws are passed requiring that pain be adequately treated, but then laws are passed that make that treatment highly suspect.

I may have nothing to hide, but my government is making me think I *should* feel I have something to hide.

and because I had to sign some contract because of all this crap I'm stuck going to a doctor who does not order tests, does not do anything to help me, doesn't even adjust what pain meds he's giving me to deal with the higher levels of pain I'm getting because I'm getting worse. When you just treat symptoms and don't treat cuase you just get worse.

I really feel like there is an attitude out there that those of us with health problems are just going to be left to die...we're part of the divine chosen...
