(no subject)

okay, bedtime. a whole three-five hours earlier than usual, but i do feel exhausted, so maybe it'll take.

get to look at two houses tomorrow... one in a potentially druggy neighborhood. i'll have to look around in that one--i live in a less than favorable neighborhood now... i'd prefer to escape that.

i get to see [livejournal.com profile] xiane tomorrow. :) that will be heartening. i miss her.

and i'll have to figure out what the hell to wear tomorrow. my spirit is telling me "stripey tights and dress." my often-absent common sense is telling me "jeans, because it will be cold and you will be travelling. and for goodness sake, wear a non-black sweater. you need to make a decent impression on future landlords."

this means i'll probably end up in black jeans and a black sweater with a norwegian wool sweater for warmth, just in case.

(or i'll just toss the sensible clothing in a bag with an extra pair of shoes.)

I miss you too. But tomorrow... first step towards eliminating that!

Then once you get the apartment, you can wear lace and tights all you like—as long as there are gifs. :)

I think a cam would be preferable...

well, we'll have to have a decent connection (cable or DSL) since boy will be telecommuting. i imagine that we'll have cams if we manage to network the various computers in the abode.

of course, the networking part is easy... the hard part is getting the clone and performa operational again. the performa just needs a compatible OS (which rules out any version of OS8--the lovely addition which has caused the lovely machine to think it's a toaster). i have no clue what the clone needs... she shut down one day and won't restart. since she's now buried behind magazines and clothing, i haven't opened her to see if something came loose. maybe i'll let my little brother do that when he comes out. and if he's stumped, he can take it home to mom, the wonder dead-computer-fixer-upper.

I might be able to swing you a copy of 9 or 10 if they'd help, but I don't know if I can get a copy of anything earlier than 8. Might even be able to swing legal copies. :)

The last time Greg and I went apartment hunting he wanted us to be all nice and crap. I explained that we should just go in our normal everyday clothes because if they give us shit we know we shouldn't live there. I don't dress all that odd to begin with and he just wore jeans and a concert t-shirt (a Xymox one I think, which is pretty tame) We actually did get shit from one place, they didn't want to show us any apartments and just kida threw the floorplan at us. The place down the street from us was more then happy to take us into a couple of units and give us a lot of details. Needless to say, we moved into the second place and have been here going on 3 years now :) I say dress warm but be yourself at the same time!

aye, that's normally my belief, too. at the moment, however, we really need to get the hell out of our apartment.

somehow, i think the stripey tights and black dress are gonna win. my tummy is rumbly and achy, which means wearing a denim waistband would be evil. my tights aren't control-top, so they'd be okay.

of course, driving for two-three hours means that i'll be wearing my nikes. ;) i'll switch to ankle boots before getting out of the car. they're okay for walking, but don't have enough metatarsal support for driving.

*slurp*

at least my cloak is out in indiana for repair work.

and i'm thankful that cville's freak quotient is sufficient to make me look relatively normal. i doubt the landlords will really care. after all, i DO drive a nice old-lady car and i smile a lot.

Yeah, it's not like you have a big mohawk or anything ;)
