A question for y'all

Venus Hum

Are they getting airplay where *you* live?

Is WNRN just special? Do we just get the cool stuff and you all have to live with ClearChannel monotony?

They're from here and I hear very little about them. But then I don't spend a lot of time listening to the radio (don't listen while at work, and that's where I spend the bulk of my time).

If I wanted to listen to the radio, I would have to live with Clear Channel monotony. With the notable exceptions of Radio K (college radio from the U of M, which due to some weird regulation can only be on the airwaves from sunup to sundown) and Zone 105 (a station that proudly proclaims itself to NOT be owned and operated by ClearChannel).

Two great tracks and the rest of the album is painfully mediocre, I'm afraid... Don't waste your cash; just download Hummingbirds and Montana. Groove Armada's Vertigo, however, is pretty consistently fine. Check it out.

It isn't all throwaway; your mileage may vary ;)

Sonic Boom is good, and so is Bella Luna [tho that's a mellower song, not a dance song]. It *is* their first album as far as I can see, other than the original issue of a version of it. I suspect the second album will be even better. And Montana and Hummingbirds are some of the best songs I'd heard in 2003 :)

ClearChannel monotony here. It's HELL. Which is why I don't listen to the radio.
I've only heard of them via the net, which is where I hear about good musicians nowadays, now that radio doesn't actually play music anymore.

No, they are not. But this is Delaware, and nothing made after 1990 is being played.

I knew about them because my friend [livejournal.com profile] project1201 opened for them at one of their concerts. I likesem a lot.
