car woes cont'd

Yeah, so... today was lazy/busy. I lazed about for a bit until boy told me M was coming over. So I hopped in the shower, then sat around and chatted with her in my towel. I finally got dressed and we went off to look at apartments for her. Then we stopped to see Cory, visited Whole Foods, came back here... then went to her place. I looked at the car there. The mosquitoes were bad, so I didn't pull any wiring out, but I did see a nasty gash in the thick cable that runs from the CD changer to its little box (adapter? no clue) under the dash. I unplugged what I could see. I'll pull the fuses when I can tell what's what. I drove the car back home to see if the smell was still there. I thought it was, but then realized I'd just been behind a diesel, so I was smelling smoke more than electrical smoke.

I'll have to have it checked out, I guess. I'll call Dad eventually. He's at his HS reunion this weekend with Mom. He'll probably yell at me for driving the car after he suggested I have it towed. I just wanted it outside my *own* house, on level ground, where it can be towed easily if that's necessary. I also wanted to get out of the way--the other street can be crowded and folks in Spooky House are moving and all.

We'll take it to the club tonight--the short drive will let us tell if it's still smelly or not.

I'm tired and my allergies are driving me nuts, but I promised I'd go out tonight. I don't think we'll stay long and if there are more than a handful of people wearing liquid latex, I won't stay at all. I already know two people who are planning on it. If I show up and see folks wearing it (or black rubber), I'm going home. I try to support my friends and the scene, but I won't do it to any major detriment to my health. Heck, just showing up probably physically hurts me more than it helps me on *normal* nights, but the emotional/social gains are worth it.

Anyhow. We're watching the Danny Elfman commentary on Edward Scissorhands. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] xiane, I still have it.

I wasn't worried about Edward :)

I'm glad you came out tonight. I was a lil ball of stress, and seeing you there always helps. M made me smile a lot too :)
