(no subject)

We had sfincione for dinner. Yum.

A little while ago, I made shortcakes, so we had more strawberry shortcake. Then I put the fixins for beet bread in the breadmaker. YUM.

Yesterday, we had sloppy joes. Quorn for me, meat for boy.

We're not going to Freak Day at KD tomorrow. We can't afford it this year. :/ We *are* still going to DC for the housewarming at [livejournal.com profile] terrapingardens' new non-terrapin abode. We'll also get to see [livejournal.com profile] lotsofmonkeys, who celebrated his birthday yesterday. :)

On Wednesday, we had lumpia, which we shared with [livejournal.com profile] mbickers and Cory.

[livejournal.com profile] nothingoth is staying here tonight. He and [livejournal.com profile] mrjustice dropped by before they went off to see the zombie movie. I bet [livejournal.com profile] ashbet is looking forward to THAT. ;)

my hands and cheeks are beetstained. i put some beets in the toaster oven to bake. i'll make beet salad when they're done.

[livejournal.com profile] xiane isn't going to come anywhere NEAR this house for days, what with all the beetings.

i have just decided recently that i *love* beets...could you please tell me more? i didn't know you could bake 'em...i'm assuming this is the first step towards beet salad, which i think i really need the recipe for...

i turned 39 and became a beetfreak. :)

Yum. Roasted beets. Then you chop them up and cook 'em, Greek style, with a little garlic, kosher salt, and olive oil.

Heaven.
