we left at 9:30 am yesterday morning. arrived at my in-laws at 8:45pm. not bad.

the roads were clear. while the trees were a bit iced over in the mountains, most of the lower land parts of PA got less than 5" of snow, so anyone who complains about it is a wimp and should be taken to the yukon immediately.

today, i think i'll take a shower and then go shopping, with or without boy. the local hot topics have those nifty platform demonia boots with spikes (transmuter rip-offs) and they might just be on sale right now. wooohoo!

i wanted to go to the art museum or something today, but i think boy is going to be a monkey about it. we have never done the mutter museum, the art museum, the franklin institute or the zoo because they charge entrance fees and we are by and far not all that well off. well, i want to spend some time doing SOMETHING today. he can choose to let me spend money on boots or he can choose to pay to see some nifty sculpture and paintings.

i have a feeling i'll have new boots today.

My local library has passes to most of the local museums. All you have to do is ask and present your library card! Free entrance to the museum of your choosing. They only have one set per day for each venue, so you might have to be flexible about which day you go. Might be worth checking out if the in-laws have library cards. Or a good opportunity to get them library cards if they don't!
