i managed to get some cross-stitchery done during the text analysis session...

i got up earlier than usual today (wooo, before noon!) and went into DC to have lunch with my former boss. it was nice to see her. we nicknamed her "mom" when we (friends and i) worked for her. it's a shame she has no clue about how her perfume really DOES make me ill, but she's still a lovely lady. mmm, lebanese food.

after lunch, we each drove to campus separately. i parked in the commuter lot and wandered over to the old office. i ran into a former officemate on the way, chatted a bit, then continued. i said hello to my old coworkers, chatted with a few, even those i couldn't stand once upon a time.

around 3pm, i went up to the lavender languages afternoon Text analysis workshop. the workshop was being held in the same room as registration and i'd volunteered to babysit the registration table/materials/funds between sessions (4-7 or so).

i listened to the last two speakers for the session (and also listed to a bit of the first--he was just finishing up)... interesting, as always. while most folks went off to dinner, i chatted with the bookstore folks, who were setting up a plethora of texts from the campus bookstore's queer section. i think i'm going to order Homosexual Desire in Revolutionary Russia.

all in all, it's been a nice day. i came home, had some food, watched some tv... now i'm getting rather sleepy.

oh, i also gave the bookstore buyer the URL for the V. Secret Diaries. hee.

there's a compilation episode of iron chef on right now... at the moment, theme ingredient is... CARROTS! "my goodness, look at the carrots... they're... GIGANTIC up there."
