lovely midsummer
home again, home again.
at the farmer's market, we got tomatoes, a cucumber, something i think i've forgotten... and a poppy seed roll from the hungarian baker.... mmmm, makosbeigli are YUMMY!
we also stopped off at CVS for my accolate prescription, picked up a couple books at daedelus, and then walked home. i hopped in the car to buy eggs and ice and stuff for the cooler, boy went in to start water for orzo and take a shower. i came home, made pasta salad, devilled eggs, and fixins for mozzarella sandwiches. off we went to the parkway.
it was windy early on, and mostly cloudy. we ate at the greenstone overlook, sitting on a polarfleece blanket. it was *cold*. we'd forgotten to bring jackets, too. we headed off to the dripping rock parking area to jump on the AT for a mile. eventually we came to the rock. it was windy on top. there was coryopsis on top... and a few other things, too. water... wind. a view. WIND WIND WIND. :D
we hiked down and headed out for White Rock Gap Falls, a place we visited during last year's drought. it's much neater with rain. :) we took some pics, i'll deal with them later.
we drove home the scenic way... came home to have spaghetti (we had leftover noodles and sauce. i added quorn to mine, boy added meatballs to his) and broccoli.
i'm resting while watching Romancing the Stone.
